Check Out the Latest Art Landmark in the Heart of Bangkok
20 Aug 2019
BHIRAJ BURI GROUP, the asset management company that focuses on commercial real estate, has built a new art landmark located in front of BHIRAJ TOWER at Sathon with the purpose to promote Thai artists’ artworks and to symbolise a new meaning of Sathon district. The first artwork has been displayed under the name of ‘The district resulted from connection’. The art piece is set to be changed quarterly.

The debut artwork is called “The district resulted from connection” which comprises of ropes in many different colors, bonded and collectively forming into the word ‘Sathon (สาทร)’ to represent the diversity and connection between cultures, nationalities and eras in Sathon district. Each alphabet comes from four different evolutions of font style which are Pong Mai, Calligraphy, Naris and Sukhumvit. Thus, this represents the memorandum of how society has changed over time.

BHIRAJ BURI GROUP has collaborated with two Thai artists: Wee Viraporn and Wishulada Puntaranuwong. Wee Viraporn, the owner of graphic studio named Conscious, is experienced in creating artworks by adapting alphabetical designs and using them to communicate his own thoughts. Wishulada Puntaranuwong is passionate about creating artworks from waste materials and delivering value back to the public eye. She is also the creator of the Monster Chandelier which was exhibited at Changchui, an artistic night market located in Bangkok. They will create the alternate four pieces of artwork for the new exhibition area on Sathon road.

“As a graphic designer, I am used to utilising the alphabet as a core material in my work. For me, the art of rearranging data has become more and more important, especially with combinations to create interesting pieces,” said Wee Viraporn.

“This exhibition has a good mixture of art, design and society to visually tell a story to impress the audience,” Wishulada Puntaranuwong added.

Mr. Pitiphatr Buri, Executive Director of BHIRAJ BURI GROUP stated: “We are proud to provide the front space of BHIRAJ TOWER at Sathon as an art exhibition area for Thai artists to showcase their art and as a place where people can enjoy art. BHIRAJ TOWER at Sathon is not only a workplace for a new generation but it is also a place where people can relax and feel creative.
